Prerequisites & Preparation

This program is intended for anyone with a genuine interest in having an in-depth understanding of Yin Yoga.

For those who already teach yoga, this course will prepare you to add Yin Yoga to your offerings.

For anyone who is an aspiring yoga teacher, industry standards require you to have at a minimum a 200-hour certification from a single school of yoga. This training does not count towards a 200-hour certification; however, it does count towards continuing education hours with Yoga Alliance and prepares you to teach Yin Yoga. You can take this program before or after a 200-hour training.

While Yin Yoga can be practiced by any body at any stage of life, it is recommended that you have at least one year of consistent yoga practice that includes (but does not need to be focused on) Yin Yoga. Having experience with yoga will give you the foundation you need to get the most out of this training.

Preparation:

  • Homework and readings will be assigned 2-weeks before the in-person session begins. Make sure you have ordered the required text.

  • Please allow time in your weekly schedule to do the reading assignments.

  • Scale down your work and social commitments during the in-person days of the training. This will help you be focused and present during the training.

  • It is highly recommended that you practice Yin Yoga at least once a week in preparation for this training.
